New collector cars?

Due to the overinflated prices of musclecars do you think that Cars made after 1972 will become collectable? One thing they do have is v8 and rear wheel drive and they are cheap. but some are sure ugly. What do you think?

If you mean collectable as in a ‘69 Camaro/Mustang/Cuda collectable, then no. Outside of the ’70s Firebirds, Camaros, and Corvettes, none of them will ever have any real value. The V8 rear wheel drive aspect and cheap price will keep some of them from the junkyard to be used on the dragstrip. In my opinion, a collectable would need to have some level of innovation and uniqueness that would make them stand out from the crowd. I just don’t see that in the ’70s crowd.

I will say that some of the foreign cars will continue to be collectable such as the 240/280Zs and other sporty imports. They have always had a reasonable following and should continue to through the years.

A few gimme cars are the 74 Firebird 455 Ho.. I believe that ran a 13:70 in a quarter mile. Also the underdog AMC Javelin. It came equiped with a 255hp 401.. Now for the rest of them.. I would say Nova’s for those years werent the best looking, Malibu’s are about the same in Uniqueness.. So that leaves a Volare or duster around 1977… Honestly any real wheel drive car thats american that you can shove a V8 in will be collectable.. Just how collectable is the real question.. I believe a 74 Mustang had a 255v8.. Ford also had a 2 dr t-bird.. i always wanted one of those since i was a kid. This really doesnt answer your question,,just opens more
