Where can I find performance parts for older dodge trucks? Like a 1985 ram?

All the other sites only have new stuff….. 94 and up. And all the so called classic truck sites are for chevies and fords

Hi. First off, JC Whitney is a good start. Also the wrecking yard. I assume your truck is between 1972, and 1993. If it is a 72, 73, 74, 75, there were still some big blocks, 335 hp 383s, as well as 440s. If you have one of these there are tons of parts, aftermarket and MOPAR, (get your self a Direct Connection Mopar parts catalog). If you have a mid 70s to mid eightys truck. Not to worry. The fastest American Vehicle in 1977, and 78 was not a Trans Am, or Vette, but the Dodge Little Red Express truck. A dual exhausted, hi compression, 360- 4 Barrel , short bed , step side, in Dodge Red, with the duals ran up behind the cab, like a big diesel. You can find the hi compression 360, with the factory 4 barrels quite easily. Now, you take your stock mil. If it is a 318, or a 360 two barrel, throw away the manifold and carb, and go with an Edelbrock Manifiold, and their 4 barrel. A 650-750 cfm should do the job. while your at it get the Hi flow air cleaner, chrome is good, and a K and N , or similar air filter. Now we are breathing good, so lets go with a stainless header, lots of them out there, and three inch stainless, duals back to your Cat, and out to a low restriction muffler, like a flow master, and out to duals, ending with the big, 4 " by 18 " slash cut exhaust tips. Now this puppy not only sounds bad, but you have added about 80 or more horses. This is an inexpensive and basic way to make better power and gas mileage in this engine. If you shop around, this is not to expensive. I did this on three Dodges, a 1975 , with a 440, , an 80 360, and a 1997 fuel injected 5.9. Oh yeah, keep a clean fuel filter on this truck. If you can find the 245 hp , multi port injected engine, like my 97, you can easily get it to 350 hp, more if you go a Jet Chip. I did,t works. Even the carbed models will get you to around 300 ponies with the 360 engines. Unless you are towing a heavy load, stay with a rear end ratio around the 355 . This will give you good passing power,as well as better gas mileage. Hope this helps. Have fun.
