All the other sites only have new stuff….. 94 and up. And all the so called classic truck sites are for chevies and fords
Hi. First off, JC Whitney is a good start. Also the wrecking yard. I assume your truck is between 1972, and 1993. If it is a 72, 73, 74, 75, there were still some big blocks, 335 hp 383s, as well as 440s. If you have one of these there are tons of parts, aftermarket and MOPAR, (get your self a Direct Connection Mopar parts catalog). If you have a mid 70s to mid eightys truck. Not to worry. The fastest American Vehicle in 1977, and 78 was not a Trans Am, or Vette, but the Dodge Little Red Express truck. A dual exhausted, hi compression, 360- 4 Barrel , short bed , step side, in Dodge Red, with the duals ran up behind the cab, like a big diesel. You can find the hi compression 360, with the factory 4 barrels quite easily. Now, you take your stock mil. If it is a 318, or a 360 two barrel, throw away the manifold and carb, and go with an Edelbrock Manifiold, and their 4 barrel. A 650-750 cfm should do the job. while your at it get the Hi flow air cleaner, chrome is good, and a K and N , or similar air filter. Now we are breathing good, so lets go with a stainless header, lots of them out there, and three inch stainless, duals back to your Cat, and out to a low restriction muffler, like a flow master, and out to duals, ending with the big, 4 " by 18 " slash cut exhaust tips. Now this puppy not only sounds bad, but you have added about 80 or more horses. This is an inexpensive and basic way to make better power and gas mileage in this engine. If you shop around, this is not to expensive. I did this on three Dodges, a 1975 , with a 440, , an 80 360, and a 1997 fuel injected 5.9. Oh yeah, keep a clean fuel filter on this truck. If you can find the 245 hp , multi port injected engine, like my 97, you can easily get it to 350 hp, more if you go a Jet Chip. I did,t works. Even the carbed models will get you to around 300 ponies with the 360 engines. Unless you are towing a heavy load, stay with a rear end ratio around the 355 . This will give you good passing power,as well as better gas mileage. Hope this helps. Have fun.

Friday, January 29th, 2010Any places on yahoo to list trucks for sale?
Friday, January 29th, 2010I have a 72 Chevy Cheyenne Super Truck (classic) I want to sell. Is there a site on yahoo to list vehicles and things for sale? If so, how do I find it?
This is a pickup that I have for sale. Has a 350 v8 automatic transmission , tilt steering, power brakes, power steering, a/c . Extra rebuilt motor for extra price. For the truck $3500 includes motor that is working and just passed emmissions. Extra motor is completely rebuilt, high powered 350 listed at @ 2,000 in great shape outside, inside needs new upholstery . Once to a full restore, worth 15 to 20 thous. Great rig as is, but I have no time to do restoring. Need only a great working van for my job. E mail me asap here and if interested, we can talk by phone.
Depending where you live, Craigslist.com can be a great place to see a vehicle, and it’s free.
There are sites that deal in classic vehicles for sale. Do a Yahoo search for "classic cars for sale’.
Good luck.

Is any one familiar with Classic truck requirements in Texas?
Tuesday, January 19th, 2010I have a 1976 that needs to be registered and needs insurance. I live in austin that means because my vehicle is made before 1984 I won’t have to pay the extra registration fees. What else can I get away with by owning a older vehicle?
Not much I live in Texas………..
Vehicles registered as "Classic" are required to have the annual safety inspection. These types of vehicles are inspected like any passenger vehicle. Certain items of inspection, however, may or may not be required to be inspected, depending on the age of the car…………
Antiques vehicles are a different story………
What is the best/cheapest choice of truck for my son who wants to spend up to $3500 on a "classic" truck.
Friday, January 15th, 2010He’ll be taking a class at school that teaches how to fix cars, so hopefully we’ll save money by him doing the work himself – also need one that is cheap to insure.
Any 70’s or 80’s model domestic pick up will fairly cheap and easy to fix. As for cheap insurance, to keep it cheap, stay away from 4 wheel drives to begin with.
