i am a mechanic, but only know about older muscle cars, and classics, could i make a living off of that type of auto repair. Also vintage bikes as well….
Its possible you could make a living off of that but you will either have to find a shop that specializes in that sort of thing or start your own business.

Would there be any interest in restored classic cars from the 40s-70s. I a want them to be of the moms type.?
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010There are plenty of classic auto restoration shops and businesses but I don’t see anything geared to the moms who love the "mom-mobiles" of the classic years. Personally, I love them. I am a mom and I love classic cars. It makes sense to me, but I wanted to hear what other people thought. Thanks for your time.
THere is a new company out there who loves to restor cars to meet the needs of the person. Sirius Customes Engineering no web site yet were still working on it. Were right now changeing a 58 nomad to fit my family in. Changeing the rear face seat around and make the middle seat fold down We have also changes a nova wagon into a drag car a bmw into a slider. As I work on the cars I teach my sons what I am doing so they can grow up to be like momie. We did alot of work on the Evolve c30 as seen at SEMA. All we need is a customer base right now were just finishing friends cars hopeing to get our name out there. I m sure if I answered your question. 1-800 814 5899 is our number if any ones reads this and wants a car restored

Classic auto plates on a classic car in calif..?
Sunday, January 24th, 2010I recently bought a classic car…I want to put the black and yellow plates on it ..The car is a 67 model…I bought a set of plates on ebay…DMV told me that the law is that if it,s 62 model or older you can swap..So i,m out of luck…I,ve seen three vehicles that were fairly new had these older plates…Whats up?Can anyone help?
If DMV told you what to do, why ask us??
As a driver of an old car with "year of manufacture" plates, you have to abide by the State law.
Now….what you COULD do, is, whenever you attend a "cruise night" or static car display event (car show), you could swap the plates out to have the OLD plates on it…then when over, you could switch them BACK.
Just be sure to make the switch before getting out on the street!
In Texas, it’s pretty simple to get the old plates changed to your name….it’s almost like having VANITY plates – charge the same plus your normal registration.
You might ask if they have an "antique" plate – but these are normally NEW and are only good for "parade cars."
Good luck and I hope this helps!
Mercedes Benz Museum Stuttgart Germany CLASSIC CARS!
Saturday, January 23rd, 2010
Here is a look inside the famous Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart Germany. It is a phenomenal place to visit, and the architecture alone is something to behold. You take an elevator to the top floor (there are 7-8 stories) and work your way down a spiral walkway back to the ground level. At the top is the earliest automobiles made by the various companies that would become Mercedes Benz. As you progress you see the vehicles that the company has made in each era – both cars and large vehicles (buses, trucks, etc). The ramp down to the next level is lined with displays of historical events during the next era, then you arrive at a large room where the cars are on display. And what beautiful cars they are! Talk about unbelievable condition! And there are interactive displays as well. Near the end there is a celebrity room where Mercedes owned by the famous are on display (the Popemobile, Princess Diana, Emperor Hirohito, the Beatles, etc). It is a fantastic museum that is well worth the visit (and admission is free!). Video shot on HD in 2007.

How to certify as an appraiser of classic and antique automobiles.?
Friday, January 22nd, 2010I want to appraise classic, antique and other old auto for sale, etc, and also to judge at auto shows.
to be a judge, join and become active in a particular car club that shows its cars off at the biggest annual show in your area. when they see you are a good worker and knowledgable, you will be invited to become a judge.
to be an appraiser, ask your insurance agent who he recommends for appraising an antique car and then get that appraisers business card. It will show his qualifications. Then contact that governing body about your desire to become certified.
